He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul O. Carpenter and Josephine F. Carpenter (Lamp); his children, Sheila Ann and Dale Alvin Carpenter; his grandchildren, Libby Rose Carpenter, Payton Nibbe and Ethan Carpenter; and his siblings, Verlon Carpenter, Pearl Bauman, Paul Carpenter and Alvin Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Heidebrink; his children, Mike Carpenter (Lynn) of Lake Benton, Gerry Carpenter (Mary) of Dawson, Kathy Guida (Dave) of Tyler, Joe Carpenter (Annette) of Pipestone, Lonny Carpenter (Angie) of New Ulm, Alan Carpenter (Cindy) of Marshall and Jeff Carpenter (Sandy) of Lake Benton, Minnesota; and his siblings, Lois Zimmer of Lake Benton, Ardith Larsen of Lake Benton, Conrad Carpenter (Connie) of College Station and Daniel Carpenter (Judy) of LeMars, Iowa.. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren.
