He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Dahl and Trudie Dahl (Nelson); his former wife Ruth Eileen Dahl; his siblings, Ardie Dahl and Shirley Nelson; and his niece Trudie Nelson Berg.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Leppala; his children, Julie Wistrom (Scott) and Charlie Dahl (Barbara Sorensen); his grandchildren, Lee Wistom (Caitlin), Anna Wistrom-Thesing (Jacob) and Lynn Schwarzkopf (Eric); his great grandchildren, Henry and Willow Thesing; and his nephews, Greg (Betsy) and Gary Nelson (Claire).
