She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mesenbring and Nannie Mesenbring (Peterson); her husband Lloyd "Butts" Carlson; and her siblings, Robert, Charles "Buzz" Mesenbring, Peggy Dhaemers, Vi Gersetich and Joyce "Honey" Paskewitz.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jill Schoenberger (Gregg) and Wendi Eliason (Jim) of Duluth Township; and her grandchildren, Benjamin, Jesse and Naomi. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
