He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his siblings, Helmer, Walfred, Oscar, Emil, Edgar, Enfred, Esther Wuorio, Elyn Holter and Eva Lingren; and his son-in-law Gary Staples.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne (Karen) of Spokane, Carol Staples (Tony Goerdt) of Cherry and David (Sharon) of Duluth; his grandchildren, Scott Staples (Stacia), Katie Hoglund and Kori Shepard (Andy); and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew Staples, Jack, Zachary, Aubrey Hoglund, Ella and Briggs Shepard. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
