He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Larson and Clara Larson (Soderlund); and his brother Jack. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth (Nohr) of Gary, MN.; his children, Mervyn Jr. (Clarene), Robin (Paula), James (Kim) and Kathryn Larson-Fritz (Dawn); his grandchildren, Tracy, Chad, Mandie, Maggie, Tony, Stacey, Kathy, Julie, Eilies, Kelly and Erin; and his sisters, Rebecca Crane and Juleann Ward. He is also survived by 35 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
