It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Olson of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Olson and Emma Olson (Hofer); and his brothers, LuVern, Morris and Erling Olson.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hendrickson; his children, Julie McGauvran (Michael), Steven Olson (Julie) and Jennifer Kack (David); his grandchildren, Adam McGauvran (Rachel), Sara McGauvran, Haley Olson (Pete Thingelstad), Maxwell Olson, Riley Kack (Amalie), Emily Kack and Olivia Kack; his great grandchildren, Noah, Ava, Logan and Harper; and his brother Ronald Olson (Karen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Red River Valley Hospice or Hope Foundation at the Cancer Center of North Dakota.
