With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mildred Horien of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on April 11, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Schmitke and Alvina Schmitke (Baier); her siblings, Freda Varland (John), Agnes Ostrem (Richard), Margaret Bugge (Clifford), Betty Waterworth (William), Amy Gutterud (Elmer), Harold Schmitke (Doris), Arnold Schmitke (Hedwig), Otto Schmitke (Mary), Irvin Schmitke, Martin Schmitke and Carl Jr. Schmitke; and her sisters-in-law, Janice Schmitke, Darlene Horien-Hallstrom and Arleen Horien-Skoglund.
She is survived by: her husband Emery Horien; and her siblings-in-law, Marc Horien (Shirley) of Holt, MN, Bob Skogland of Karlstad, MN, Alyce Schmitke of Roseau, MN and Joyce Schmitke-Pricket of Apache Junction, AZ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
