He was predeceased by: his parents, Egbert Van and Effie Van (Stavenger) of Streek; his wife Myrtle Eggerud (Johnson); his siblings, Evelyn Swanson, Mildred Robinson and Harold Van of Streek; his brothers-in-law, Durlyn Robinson, Walt Morehouse, Lester Swanson, Palmer Roos, Kenny Jorgenson, Dennis Nelson and Duane Wavra; his granddaughter Kimberly Hintz; his stepgrandchildren, Danny Thorstad, Ryan Eggerud and Kjya; his stepgreat-grandsons, Axel and Jaecob; and his stepchildren, Orville, Jean and Millie Thorstad.

He is survived by: his children, Alan Van of Streek, Lana Bulger (Tim) of Rosewood, MN and Sheryl Danielson (Tim) of Shevlin, MN; his grandchildren, Jessica, Becky, Jared, Justin, Tammi, Nichole, John, Chelsie and Chloe; his great grandchildren, Brady, Olivia, Parker, Zack, Logan, Cora, McKenzie, Ava, Dusty, Connor, Jaxon, Wyatt, Hannah, Emily, Layla, Aubree and Braelyn; his sisters, Dorothy Morehouse, Ruth Roos of Grand Forks, ND, June Jorgenson of Arlington, WA, Barb Nelson, Thief and Muriel Wavra of Gaylord, MN; his sister-in-law Markita Van (Thief) of Streek; his stepdaughter Eunice Rud (Wesley); his stepchildren-in-law, Diane Eggerud and John Thorstad; and his stepgrandchildren, Diane, Mark, Susie, Paula, Austin, Larissa, Richard, Lisa, Chad, Chris, Scott, Kaylia, David, Tom and Kathy.
