He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Svendsgaard and Marie Svendsgaard (Wayne); his wife Janice Steinhauer; his daughter Krystal Lea; his sisters, Karen Thygeson and Kathy Vatthauer; and his brothers-in-law, Floyd Fredrickson and DuWayn Thygeson.
He is survived by: his children, Lydell Svendsgaard (Mary) of Barnum, MN, Twyla Race (Craig) of Goodridge, MN and Kyle Svendsgaard (Krista); his grandchildren, Samantha Alme (Andrew), Kimberly Borowicz (Corey), Nicholle Schroeder (Neil), Brooklyn Svendsgaard, Carter Svendsgaard, Kennedy Svendsgaard and JJ Bush; his great grandchildren, Toby, Lucas, Adeline and Eloise Alme; his grandchildren, Blake, Beau Borowicz, Maleah and Parker Schroeder; his brother William Svendsgaard (Aljean); his brother-in-law Donald Vatthauer; and his close friend Terese Armstrong. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Services (420 Labree Ave, Thief River Falls, MN 56701). A prayer was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the Prayer Service Johnson Funeral Service - Thief River (105 Governor St, Oklee, MN 56742). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (505 Main Ave N, Thief River Falls, MN 56701). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Greenwood Cemetery (209 Greenwood St E, Thief River Falls, MN 56701).
