He is survived by: his children, Carol Lee (Allan) of Austin and John Merten (Tracy) of Austin; his grandchildren, Emily (Jordan Harland), Rayanna, Ethyn, Zakk and Maverick; his great grandchildren, Romeo, Charlotte, Salem and Layne; his sisters, MaryAnn Mueller (Delphin), Elaine Schemmel (Ron) and Eileen Berg (Erv); and his sister-in-law Joyce Merten. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
