He was predeceased by: his parents, Matti Latvala and Lilja Latvala; his son Russell; his grandsons, Robert Latvala and Kyle Knudson; and his siblings, Fanny Beaudette, Ailie Anderson, Agnes Lehmann, Arlene Latvala, Richard, William, George, Arvid, Arne, Art, Eino, Norman and James Latvala.

He is survived by: his spouse Elvie Maijala; and his daughter Marilynn Plucar (Howard).
