He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hanson and Gladys Hanson (Martin); his siblings, Dewayne, Vernon, Irene and Grace; and his daughter-in-law Susan Hanson.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Kanieski; his children, John Dean, Lori (Joel), Gregory, Sheri (Steve) and Carrie (Bob); and his siblings, Burt, Bernice and Viola. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
