He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Sr. Koester and Irene Koester (Rahn); his wife Martha; his daughter Linda; and his siblings, Bernice Zastrow, Homer Koester and Alfred Koester.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nona (Tom Kliber) of Swanville and Karen Koester of Maple Grove; his granddaughter Sara Keillor (Ryan); and his sister Devona Peterson (Dee) of Baxter. He is also survived by three daughters, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
