He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest and Margaret. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Lisa, Matt (Cathy), Tom and Renee Oakes (Matthew); his grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Ben, Nick, Joe, Sophia, Andrew, Xander, William, Henry and Evelyn; his brothers, John (Jean), Neil (Mary) and Rob (Kim); and his siblings-in-law, Mike Sampica, Steve Sampica, Dave Sampica (MaryBeth) and Marykay Broesder (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorials preferred to St. Jude of the Lake Church or School, Mahtomedi Area Food Shelf or Our Lady of Peace Hospice St Paul.
