He was predeceased by: his daughter Hannah; and his in-laws, LaVerne and Margaret Dankers. He is survived by: his parents, Paul Gerber and Ruth Gerber (Kaldenberg) of Stewartville; his wife Deb; his children, Emily and Sam of Stewartville; his brother Nick Gerber (Ashley Vasas) of Minneapolis, MN; his brothers-in-law, Steve Dankers (Lacey Boesen) and Roger Dankers of Goodhue, MN; his nephews, Bo Dankers (Victoria) and Brett Dankers (Brittany) of Goodhue, MN; and his niece Klarissa Poncelet (Tyler) of Mazeppa, MN. He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
