He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Hoper and Ruth Hoper (Jackson); his sons, Chad and Jared; his wives, Boni and Doris; and his sister-in-law Ingrid Hoper.
He is survived by : his close friend Doris Nelson (Gehrls); his children, Marla Nickson (Phil), Jerome Hoper (Megan) and Mark Nelson (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Ben, Steve Nickson, Meika, Odin Hoper, Alex, Beckett and Blake Nelson; and his siblings, Mark Hoper (Lois Ann), Saundra Moe (Tom) and Clifford Hoper. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
