He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Melvin Rasmusen and Violet Arlene Rasmusen (Hinze); and his brother Daniel Rasmusen (Chuni). He is survived by: his wife Tracy Lynn Rasmusen (Howe); his children, David Oscar Rasmusen, Jr. (Jess) of Savage, Michelle Lynn Garrison (Mark) of Travelers Rest and Laura Helen Phillips (Steve) of Travelers Rest; his grandchildren, Faith Rasmusen, Brittany Rasmusen, Kaitlyn Rasmusen, Alexis Lamere, Max Garrison, Samantha Garrison, Henry Phillips and Sally Phillips; his sisters, Helen Stafsholt (Jon), Bonnie Devick (Joe) and Ruth Anderson (Bruce); and his sister-in-law Chuni Rasmusen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Starbuck Men's Veteran's Auxiliary.
