It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Gorton (Staples, Minnesota), who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Gorton to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Gorton and Catherine Lieb. He is survived by: his wife Sally; his children, John (Annette), Greg, Peter (Kelly), Mary Altobelli (Peter) and Paul (Anna); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Mitchell, Kit, Isabelle, Emily, Frances, Sam, Joe, Johnny Gorton, Sofia, Giana and Vinnie Altobelli.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (310 4th St NE, Staples, MN 56479). A Mass will be held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Staples Area Food Shelf, Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center in Staples, or the Staples-Motley Auditorium completion fund.
