He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schumacher and Loretta Schumacher (Helget); his wife Bonnie; his siblings, Bernice Manderfeld (Jim), Donald Schumacher, Myron Schumacher, Phyllis Schroepfer and Marjorie Friederich; and his in-laws, Denis, Mary Schmitz, Floyd, Marilyn Schmitz, Verne, Monica Schmitz, Richard Feser, Jim Manderfeld, Leo E Schroepfer and Joyce Schmitz.

He is survived by: his children, Trude Bartlett (Bob) of Ham Lake, MN, Kevin Schumacher (Vickie Olson) of Hoffman, MN, Sandra Hoffmann of St. Clair, MN, Jerry Schumacher (Kim) of Olathe, KS, Richard Schumacher of Campbell, CA, Roger Schumacher (Stephanie) of Meridian, ID, Gary Schumacher of Raymore, MO, Cheryl Borgen of Rosemount, MN, Jill Weiss (Karl) of Sleepy Eye and Brian Schumacher (Stephanie) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Ashley Anderson (Todd), Tony Schumacher (Rachel), Sarah Hoffmann (Evan), Nicole Zimmerman (Chris), Cole Schumacher, Kendra Schumacher, Adam Schumacher (Alix), Jacob, Joshua Schumacher, Alec, Aiden Borgen, Leah, Emily, Kaleb Weiss, Evan and Hailey Schumacher; and his in-laws, Donna Schumacher, Eldoris Schumacher, Gladys Feser, David and Linda Schmitz. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel (301 3rd Ave SW, Sleepy Eye, MN 56085). A prayer was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 3:45 PM at the same location. Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church-Sleepy Eye (636 1st Ave N, Sleepy Eye, MN 56085).
