He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Schmitz and Florence Schmitz; his siblings, Loren and Gloria Luckow; and his siblings-in-law, John Luckow, Roger Schnobrich, Richard Duea, Tess Schmitz and Agnes Schmitz.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Jean Duea; his children, Joseph (Jean) of Sauk Rapids, Jane Stone (Paul) of Minnetrista, Stephen (Carrie) of Maple Grove, John of Palm Harbor, FL, Andrew (Jolene) of St. Paul and Mother Maria Mater Compassionis of Manila, Philippines; and his siblings, Gilbert of Redwood Falls, Leo (Mary) of Springfield and Angeline Schnobrich of Wayzata. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
