He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Stoltenberg and Myrtie Stoltenberg (Lehman); his wife Laura Haack; his son Daryl; his grandson Trenton Merkel; and his siblings, Elaine, Clarence and Gene.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Merkel (Gene) of Spring Valley, Kathy Bernard (Steve) of Kennewick, WA, Kim Stoltenberg (Pam) of Stewartville, MN and Lynne Stoltenberg of Pine Island, MN; and his brother Arnie Stoltenberg (Cynthia) of Anchorage, AK.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
