He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Schmidt and Alvina Schmidt (Meisner); his wife LaVern Schulz; his brother Elmer; and his nephew Tim Rollie.
He is survived by: his sons, Roger Schmidt of South St and Steve Schmidt (Julie) of Rosemount, MN; his grandchildren, Tory, Brandi, Dustin, Jaeson, Geoffrey (Rachael McLaughlin), Russian and Sergey Kulyagin; and his siblings, Harvey Schmidt (JoEllen) of Wykoff, Marlene Rollie (Jerry) of Spring Valley and Mildred Grabau (Ray) of Wykoff. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions masks are recommended, a rolling visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:15 p. m., with Funeral Services held at 2:30 p. m., Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley with maximum occupancy of 25 people.
