She is survived by: her former husband Melvin Slafter; and her children, Edith of Harmony, MN, Merrill (Pat), Marvin (Jean) of Spring Grove, MN, Jennie (Jerry) of Spring Grove, MN, Sharon (Larry) of Santa Rosa, CA, Doris of Charles City, IA, Robert (Janice) of Kellogg, MN, Miles of Austin, MN, Alice of Austin, MN, Isabelle of Santa Rosa, CA and Donna of Santa Rosa, CA. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Leona Smith Memorial Fund at the Gundersen Harmony Care Center.
