Smidt of Spring Valley, Minnesota, born in Stewartville, Minnesota, who passed away on April 3, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Smidt (Stevenson) and Clovis Smidt; and his brothers, Glenn and Arnold. He is survived by: his children, Jill Kappers (Dan), Kerri Boelman (Corey), Gregg Smidt (Shannon) and Nikki Myhre (Eric); his wife Gail Jean Derr; his grandchildren, Nicholas Kappers, Autumn Brandt (Carter), Nathan Kappers, Scott Boelman, Zach Boelman, Ty Smidt, Kylie Smidt, Grace Myhre and Elton Myhre; and his siblings, Shirley Luedke of Anchorage, AK, Kathy Crace of Peterson, MN and Jerry of Stewartville, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
