It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Sample of Spring Valley, Minnesota, who passed away on January 17, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Ivan and Ruth Sample (Utley); his wife Ranah of Vermillion; his sister Evadeen Hagberg (Don) of Maple Grove; his daughters, Sona Kott (Randy) of Platte, SD and Shawna Letcher (Mike) of Rapid City, SD; his grandchildren, Sarah Myers (Jay) of Winner, SD, Jessica Kott of Platte, SD, Jayden Kott of Platte, SD, Jessica Letcher of Minneapolis and Samantha Vroman (Dalton) of Ivanhoe; his great grandchild Christopher Myers of Winner, SD; and his brothers, Richard and Gregg. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 P. M. at the First Baptist Church, 101 E. Main Street, Vermillion, S. D. Social distancing and masks are required.
