He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd McConnell and Fanny McConnell (Holets); his sister Janette; his nephew Gary Ptacek; and his daughters-in-law, Tessa and Shelly (Rita McConnell).
He is survived by: his former wife Rita Stein; his sons, Gust of Spring Valley and Scott of Spring Valley; his grandchildren, Melissa, Ashley, Kaden, Keisha and Shinead; and his sister Mildred Ptacek. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
