He is survived by: his wife Alice Dahl of Spring Valley; his children, Edward Dahl (Susan) of Spring Valley, David Dahl of Tomah, WI and Carolyn Freese (Jeff) of Lanesboro, MN; his grandchildren, Delia O'Connell (Logan), Daniel Dahl, Margaret, Elizabeth, Dorothy Dahl, Yvonne, Sarah, Isaac, Christopher and Alison Freese; and his sister Lorraine Kraling of Rochester, MN..
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First English Lutheran Church or the Bloomfield Cemetery.
