He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sr. Blade and Iness Blade (Simons); his siblings, Arthur Blade, Carol Blade and Helen Brock; and his son Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Elizabeth "Liz" Anderson Blade; his sister Karen Bettin (Sam); his children, Susan Totenhagen, Thom Blade (Christy) and Dawn Merkel (Robert); and his grandchildren, Troy (Tina), Travis (Kim), Matt Kelly (Stephanie), Sean Totenhagen (Missy), Corey (Alex), Ethan Merkel, Dylan Blade and Hayley Blade (Matthew Colonna). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
