He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oren Ellingson and Alvina Ellingson (Solum); his spouse Jean Robinson; his children, Karen Ellingson Cornella (Shawn) of Spring Grove and David Ellingson of Bradenton, FL; his grandchildren, Oliver and Everlee Cornella; and his brothers, Charles (Audrey), Mark (PJ) and Dean (Jennifer). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews; and his former wife.

Due to the Covid pandemic, private funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with burial at the church cemetery.

“I was so saddened to learn of Tom's death. He was such a wonderful man. When Kaye was in the nursing home in Spring Grove and I went to take her back to her home to LaCrosse, he came and helped me pack my car with her things. I know he also visited her at the assisted living place (The Willows) in LaCrosse when he went for treatments. I'm sure he suffered a long time and now is at rest with our Lord. My sincere sympathy to you at this sad time. My prayers are with you. Marilyn Skarpac”
