He was predeceased by: his parents, Luverne and Wilma; his wife Betty Sundet; his siblings, Larry (Carole), Lorraine Lager and Audrejean Myrah; his brothers-in-law, Corky Lager, Ed Myrah and Richard Wagner; and his nephews, Robert Lager III, Steven and Jon Kragness.

He is survived by: his children, Matthew, Laura (Isaiah Heberlein) and Jennifer Bottke; his grandchildren, Lucy and Livi; his siblings, Cindy (Charlie Huber), Leighton Kragness (Joan) and Leonard "Sonny" Kragness; and his parents-in-law, Marcia Tollefson (Orel), Judy VonArx (Jeff), Renee Wagner, Rick Sundet, Mary Parsons (Scott), Jeff Sundet (Bonnie), Kathy Rosendahl (Oscar) and Karen Folstad (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, and many special cousins and friends.

“It was a pleasure to know Deano. In our twenties/thirties we were all lived in the Twin Cities. Deano was always happy and smiling, so much fun to be around. I have so many memories of sports with him. We went to a Twins game once and it lasted 14 innings. We all cheered to the very end. Thinking of Deano with Betty now is a comfort. For all of Deanos family I pray that you all will find comfort with each other and remembering all the good times. Hugs and love to all of you❤️❤️. Cindy Geslin”
