He was predeceased by: his parents, Myles Joseph Milner and Anne Milner (Vollrath); his wife Dolores Ann Seiler; his former wife Ardys Blokzyl (McLane); his siblings, John F. Schmitt, Anthony W. Schmitt, James W. Milner, Magdalyn Schmitt Hesprich and Kathryn Schmitt Thomas; his close friend Kaye Jacobsen; and his son Gregory Patrick.
He is survived by: his siblings, Myles J. Milner Jr of Kent, WA, Sheila Milner (Lois Mechels) of Burtrum, MN and Mary Ellen Milner Otis of St. Paul; his children, Michael John (Eileen Miller) of Mound, Kathleen Mary (Kathleen Murphy) of Minneapolis and Joseph Edward (Kristjan Selvig) of St. Paul; his grandson Michael J. Milner Jr; his brother-in-law Jack Seiler (Suzanne); and his stepchildren, Roger Blokzyl (Robin) of Spicer, Darwin Blokzyl of Kerkhoven, Bryan Blokzyl (Sabrina) of Spicer, Darla Shimota (Joe) of Willmar, Sheila Johnson of Marco Island, FL, Jerry Blokzyl (Sheila) of Raymond and Sherri Menk (Duane Slaughter) of Willmar. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, Northstar Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Great Northern Railway Historical Society (GNRHS.org), or Heart of a Border Collie Rescue are preferred.
