Beverly Van Den Einde wrote a sympathy message

“We are so sorry for your loss. Even though we haven't see Brett or his siblings for many years, we have heard wonderful things about him from his aunt Caryl Haug. Brett's dad and I are 1st cousins and when the opportunity arose, we enjoyed hearing about Paul's children throughout the years. Brett was a very talented, hard worker and such an intelligent young man. May God provide the family with the strength needed to get through this difficult time. Our love to you. Larry & Bev VanDenEinde”

Dick Melby wrote a sympathy message

“Carol, Bryan, Blair, Beth: This time is so sad for us. You all have such a special place in my heart and have so many good memories of your family and Lake Florida. Brett was such a hard worker and always had time for a warm smile and conversation. Brett’s over the top intelligence overwhelmed me. Believe he stored many deep feelings for family and our government to make the right decisions. I know Grandma Sally welcomed you to God’s Kingdom being proud of you. RIP Love, Aunt Caryn”
