He was predeceased by: his father Paul Aasen. He is survived by: his mother Carol Aasen (Ferguson) of Spicer; his siblings, Bryan of Spicer, Blair (Lisa) of Spicer and Beth Petersen (Mike) of Willmar; and his nieces and nephews, Mitchell, Emma, Kody, Hannah (Zach), Andrew, Nicholas and Jessica. He is also survived by two great nieces and one great nephew.

“We are so sorry for your loss. Even though we haven't see Brett or his siblings for many years, we have heard wonderful things about him from his aunt Caryl Haug. Brett's dad and I are 1st cousins and when the opportunity arose, we enjoyed hearing about Paul's children throughout the years. Brett was a very talented, hard worker and such an intelligent young man. May God provide the family with the strength needed to get through this difficult time. Our love to you.
