He is survived by: his children, Matt Gerten (WI), Sarah Huaman (FL), Abigail Gerten (King Huddleston), Elizabeth Gerten (VA), Candace Kinslow (IN), Razia Warasi (MN) and Muna Farah (Ali Shireh); his siblings, Nancy Melin (Larry), Pat Gerten (Nancy), Judy Wheeler (Rich), Karen Gall (George) and Greg Gerten (Jackie); and his uncle Don. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
