He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford Sandell and Elaine Sandell (Erickson); and his sister Mary. He is survived by: his siblings, Tina McStotts (Terry) of Cokato and Jim Sandell (Gayle) of Buffalo; his nephews, Matt McStotts (Emiko), Danny McStotts (Kim), Eric McStotts (Amanda), Josh Sandell and Ryan Sandell; and his niece Kallie Sandell (Natan). He is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and very dear friends.
