She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edwin and Betsy Gunderson (Olean); her husband Franklin Sandell; her grandson John Jr.; and her siblings, Eleanor, Evelyn, Mabel and Albert.
She is survived by: her sons, John Sandell (Joyce) of South Haven, Gary Sandell (Debbie) of Cokato and Paul Sandell (Mary) of South Haven; her grandchildren, Julie (Rob), Jason, Michael (Jessica) and Morgan (Elena); her great grandchildren, Allen (Allissa), Ashley, Harper, Blake and Hannah; and her great great grandchild Lincoln.
Betty was known for her contributions to the church's bake sales.
