She was predeceased by: her parents, John Steffl and Alma Steffl (Hartneck); her husband Sylvester Hertling of Mary's Catholic Church; her son Thomas Hertling; her grandson Danny Hertling; and her siblings, Cornelius Steffl, Leslie Steffl, John Steffl, Louis Steffl, Paul Steffl, Phyllis Garry, Beatrice Ganske and Bernice Zschetzsche.
She is survived by: her children, Allan Hertling (Suzanne) of Aubrey, TX, Douglas Hertling (Barbara) of St. Cloud, Robert Hertling (Jane Walsh) of New Ulm, Laurie Seifert (Robert) of New Ulm, Cindy Haala (Vern) of Sleepy Eye, Steve Hertling (Rita) of Sleepy Eye, David Hertling (Lisa) of Sleepy Eye, Ronald Hertling of New Ulm and John Hertling (Deb) of New Ulm; and her brother Jerome Steffl of Sleepy Eye. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
