It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Bloemendaal (Slayton, Minnesota), born in Worthington, Minnesota, who passed away on October 14, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emery Chapman and Minnie Bearden Chapman; her husband Fritz; her siblings, Harold (Agnes Chapman), Francis (Beverly Chapman), Donna (Lewellyn Wendt) and Lois (William Slinger); and her brother-in-law Gerald Onken.
She is survived by: her children, Lynne Day of Minnetonka, MN and Thomas Bloemendaal (Diane) of Ruidoso, NM; her sister Judy Onken of Bellevue, NE.; and also, Lindsay, Philip Alejandrino, Luke Day, Lisa Gebhard, Jenna, Andy Hernandez, Brittany, Ryan Bedford, Thomas and Sid Bloemendaal. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Our House Hospice of Slayton or to the United Methodist Church in Lake Wilson.
