Esther Metz Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 7, 2025, at the age of 102, Esther Metz of Slayton, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Norton and Malo Norton; her children, Nancy Griffith, Phillip "Tony" Podenski and Thomas Podenski; and her siblings, Lanelle Norton, Glade Norton, Raymond Norton, Max "Buck" Norton, Marguerite Christensen, Gwendolyn Kuehl, Katherine Cole and Iris Klein.

She is survived by: her husband Ray Metz of Slayton, MN; her daughter Merry (David Hollis); her daughters-in-law, Gail Podenski and Kari Podenski of New Hope, MN; her grandchildren, Aaron (Sessali Hollis), Sarah (Jake Sinderbrand), Zach (Christine Podenski), Leah (Justin Halvorson) and Tara (Matt Lake); her great grandchildren, Dominic Halvorsen, Wyatt Podenski, Sawyer Lake, Carlo Podenski and Marie Podenski; and her in-laws, Waneta Norton of Mission Viejo, CA, Violet Podenski, Joe Metz of Truman, MN, Jane Wagner of Slayton, MN, Dorothy and Dick Randall of Sauk Rapids, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
