He is survived by: his children, Madysyn, Miles and Gavyn; his parents, Joann Hieb and Scott Erdman; and his brother Jon Buus. He is also survived by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).
