He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Bernard Torkelson and Hazel Evelyn Torkelson; his brother James Torkelson; the mother of his children Carol Torkelson; and his stepmother Ethel Torkelson A.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Ihnen (Keith) and Michael Torkelson; his grandchildren, Christina Ihnen, Kevin Ihnen and Isabelle Torkelson; his brother Richard Torkelson (Irene); his sister-in-law Kim Torkelson; and his close friend Janet Lorenz Cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Coon Rapids Chapel (1827 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Coon Rapids VFW (1919 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433).
