He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Halverson and Clara Halverson (Bruun); his wife Emma Coyle; his son-in-law Mike; and his grandsons, Adam Petersen and Jerald Reed.

He is survived by: his pet Chewy; his children, Kay Petersen (Karl), Terri Churness (David), Tammy Steindl (Chad), Kathy Broman (Mike) of Willmar, MN and Bradley Halverson (DeAnna); his siblings, Garald Halverson (Nancy), Larry Halverson (Mae), Charlotte Coyle, Elaine Hanson (Eugene), Jeannie Jacobson (Morry) and Helen Coyle (Roy) of Shelvlin, MN; his siblings-in-law, Deloris Olson of Sentinel Butte, ND and Otto Coyle (Eunice); his siblings, George, Arlan, Gary, LeRoy, Duane and Adeline Lien; and his siblings-in-law, JoAnn Halverson, Doris, Joy Coyle, Etta Halverson, Ernest Coyle, Ralph Ellis, Buzz Olson and Lawrence Lien. He is also survived by Numerous nieces and nephews 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
