He was predeceased by: his parents, Fern Straight and Clifford Straight; his wife Carmen Rix Straight; and his son Scott. He is survived by: his sons, Kirk (Debbie) and Joel (Arlene); his sister Sandra; and his grandchildren, Nick and Leah.
