He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Murrey and Betty Murrey (McCallen); his brother Harry Murrey; and his nieces, Ashley and Andrea.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Hornbuckle (Roger) and Alexander Murrey (Dakota Boelens); his sister-in-law Ellen Tarmichael; and his siblings, Michael Murrey (Nancy), Joseph Murrey (Leann), Robert Powers, James Wilcox (Shelley), Kathleen Laqua (Stephen), Mary Zagzebski (Kenneth), Diane Murrey, Barbara Madison (William) and Christine Murrey. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
