It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laureen Marie Huttunen of Sebeka, Minnesota, born in Park Rapids, Minnesota, who passed away on August 14, 2024, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Glen, Marcella Shore, Fay and Ruby Downer; her uncle Kenneth Shore; and her in-laws, David and Linda Huttunen.
She is survived by: her parents, Blaine Downer (Violet) of Foley, MN and Deloris Shore of Nimrod, MN; her husband Rodney Huttunen of Sebeka, MN; her children, Cody Huttunen of Perham, MN, Lindsey Ericksrud (Taylor) of New York Mills, MN and Courtney Huttunen of Sebeka, MN; her grandchildren, Wrenlee Rose and Elsie Ann Ericksrud of New York Mills, MN; her brothers, Robert "Bobby" Downer (Janel) of Monticello, MN and Lyle Downer of Nimrod, MN; her stepsiblings, Sandy Frisbie (Tom Stay), Wayne Frisbie, Bonnie Scherbing (Glen), Wade Frisbie (Kristy) of Foley, MN and Farrah Schwieger (Nate) of Princeton, MN; her aunts, Elsie Childers (James) of Nimrod, MN, Alice Day of Badger, MN and Ruth Ann Frisbie of Nimrod, MN; and her close friend Kimberly Hansmeier (Loren "Gordy"). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She also donated time to the Red Flag, Green Flag program at the Wadena school for 15+ years.
