He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Nierengarten and Mary Nierengarten (Collignon); and his siblings, Philip, John, Margaret Justin, Arthur, William, Carl, Peter, Walter, Clara Goenner, Lawrence and Laura.
He is survived by: his wife Marge Nierengarten (Scheierl); his children, Melanie Walz (Bob) of Cold Spring, David Nierengarten of St. Cloud, Brenda Dingmann (Jim) of St. Cloud and Rick Nierengarten of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Karlee Olson (Ryan), Ellie DuPont (Will), Jennifer Garza (Raul) and Mikaela Dingmann; his sister Jean Anderson; and his sister-in-law Mary Nierengarten. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Bell Tower Fund or Cathedral High School.
