She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Stockinger and Othelia "Tillie" Stockinger (Richter); her husband Philip A. Schimnich; her brothers, Denis (Jean), David and Lyle Stockinger; and her siblings-in-law, Rosie Stockinger and Roman Derichs.
She is survived by: her children, Ken Schimnich (Mary) of Sauk Rapids, Kaye Schimnich of St. Cloud, Keith Schimnich (Janna) of Cold Spring, Kurt Schimnich (Julie) of St. Cloud, Karla Wheeler (Jon) of Cold Spring and Kevin Schimnich (Alicia) of Rochester; her siblings, Floyd Stockinger of St. Cloud, Rhea Derichs of Watkins and Frank "Butch" Stockinger (Karen) of Bowie, MD; her sisters-in-law, Collette Stockinger of Sartell and Vivian Stockinger of Boise, ID; her grandchildren, Craig (Maureen), Amy (Bryan), Katherine (Steven), Colleen (Ryan), Maureen, Gabriella, Victoria, Ryan (Nikki) and Alyssa (Tony); her great grandchildren, Kieran, Finn, Aoife and Rose; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Cruz, Mila, Jake, Abel and Talon.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2875 10th Ave NE, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379). A prayer was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred to Poor Clare Monastery or the Phil and Armella Schimnich Scholarship Fund at Cathedral High School.
