He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Engel and Anna Engel (Ahrens); and his siblings, Robert, Jerry Engel, Leona, Evalynn Engel, Mary Ann McDonald, Janet Guerra and Carol Grzeskowiak.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Rosty; his sons, Jacob Engel of Shoreview, Isaac Engel (Krista) of Apple Valley, Andrew Engel (Stacy) of Saint Paul, Nathan Rosty (Kylie) of Duluth and Joshua Engel (Kayla) of Mankato; and his siblings, Tom Engel (Patti), Ronnie Engel (Mary), Arlene Kirk (Charlie) of Saint Paul and Toni Mickelson of Saint Paul Park. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
