She was predeceased by: her parents, John Boogaard and Rosella Boogaard (Rutten); and her son Joseph Kevin Schirmers of Sauk Centre. She is survived by: her husband Denis Schirmers of Sauk Centre; her children, Michele "Shelly" Schirmers of Eden Prairie, Heidi Dueker (Brian) of Sauk Centre, Timothy "Tim" Schirmers (Jody) of Sauk Centre, David "Dave" Schirmers (Melissa) of Sauk Centre and Benjamin "Ben" Schirmers of Sauk Centre; her grandchildren, Spencer (Nicole), Ryan, Casey and Nathan; her siblings, Bernice Messer (Donnie) of Sauk Centre, Jeanine Wolbeck of Sauk Centre, Gerald Boogaard of Minneapolis, Duane Boogaard (Kay) of Osakis, Linda Kress (Tom) of Winder, Georgia and Lenny Boogaard (Kimra) of Osakis; and her granddaughters, Paige Schirmers, Miah Schirmers, Stella Schirmers, Sylvie Schirmers, Kayley Schirmers, Nicole Sundberg and Kalli Schirmers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Family School or the American Legion Auxiliary in Sauk Centre.
