He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Calkins and Fern Calkins (Matthews); his sister Marcella Beste Quade (Sally); and his stepson David Otte. He is survived by: his wife Leora Otte-Calkins of Sauk Centre; his stepson Bruce Otte of Melrose; his daughter-in-law Lisa Otte of Sauk Centre; and his grandchildren, Zachary Otte (Kari) of Melrose, Kate Otte of Melrose, Abigail Otte-Deters (Nick) of Sauk Centre and Seth Otte. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
