He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes; and his parents, Louis Kaas and Ann Kaas. He is survived by: his children, Tereasa Simonson, Eric Simonson of California, Catherine Gill, Brian Gill of Sauk Centre, Joseph Kaas, Laura Kaas of New Brighton, Lucy Schwieger, Sterling Schwieger of St. Cloud, Francis Kaas, Lorri Kaas of Ramsey, Leo Kaas of Burnsville, Lawrence Kaas and Amanda Kaas of Milaca; his sister Evelyn Goerdt of Sauk Centre; and also, Donny Toenies of Sauk Centre and Sally Ley of St. Cloud. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Divine Mercy Devotion at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.
